I Am Palestine,
I Was Not Born In It. & Its Air Was Not The
First To Touch My Lungs,
But It’s Me..
I Did Not Witness My Childhood In It, And It
Did Not Watch My Romantic Invations In My
Youth,
But It’s Inside Me..
I Am Palestine The Land…
I Smell It In My Mother’s Dress When She
Was Feeding Me,
I Lived My Childhood In It Through My
Grandmother’s Stories, Before She Looses
Her Eyes Sight,
I have Felt The Love of Palestine On The
Hands Of My Father, The Refugee,
And I’ve Learned The Meaning Of Home In a
Child’s Eyes, Throwing a Stone On A Tank,
Throwing What is Right On What is Wrong,
I Am Hiafa.. Jafa.. Gaza… And Jerusalem…
I Am Every Place In Palestine That I Didn’t
See,
I Am The Sand That Did Not Drink From My
Blood… Wither From a Bullet Or Even a
Play…
I Am The Nablus Tree That I Did Not Taste
Its Fruit… See It On a Picture That I Always
Kiss…
I Am Palestine…
And I Am Proud!
